Vintage original Marshall 1959 Super Lead from 1988. The 1959S was the first reissue of an older amp that Marshall presented. The 1959 Super Lead 100 Watt with aluminum front from 1973 served as a model. According to the book “The History of Marshall”, 100 units of the 1959S were produced in just one year before production of this amp was discontinued.

In addition to the power and standby switches, the amp originally had a third switch labeled “Polarity”. This dates back to times when electrical equipment did not yet have to meet today’s safety standards. This is why this deadly switch has been removed and replaced by a very useful master volume modification.

The amp sounds fantastic, has a tight distortion with crisp highs and lovely compression. Even at a volume that is not deafening.
