An incredible beauty! A Les Paul Standard in Goldtop finish from 1969. This Les Paul comes from a time when the specifications of the Les Paul were undergoing major changes. This Goldtop already has the three-piece mahogany neck as it was used from mid-1969, but without the “Made in USA” stamp on the headstock and without “Volute”. The body is made of one piece of mahogany as was common until mid ’69. The original Soapbar P-90 pickups were replaced by very good sounding PAF replicas. The routings in the body were modified. The original Sprague “Black Beauty” capacitors are present, the pots are identifiable as CTS from 1969. A mini-switch was fitted between the bridge volume and tone knob. The hole was filled and the lacquer retouched. There are new saddles in the original ABR-1 bridge. A terrific, genuine vintage Gibson with a killer sound, lots of character and really good playability thanks to the new frets! Includes original case.
