Heavily modified Fender Telecaster from 1967. Body and neck are refinished and the fingerboard is re-fretted. A vintage Gibson T-Top humbucker is mounted in the neck position. The routing in the body was extended for this purpose. In the bridge position is a no-name T-style single coil which sounds surprisingly good, so we kept it installed. When we received the guitar it was fitted with what we thought was an inappropriate Tele bridge with six individual saddles. We replaced it with an early 70s Fender Tele bridge which is more in harmony with the guitar’s charm.
At less than 3.5 kilograms, this vintage Telecaster is one of the particularly lightweight models. The sound is very resonant as well as lively and complex chords sound particularly clean and transparent.
